01-10-08 - South West retail therapy gets a Boost

MJN Colston’s retail teams continue to deliver. Princesshay In Exeter and Cabot Circus in Bristol are the places to be for that retail therapy fix.

Southgate Shopping Centre in Bath and Saint David’s Shopping Centre in Cardiff are under construction and will offer an equally high quality retail experience.

Having completed the Mechanical and Electrical installations on the Exeter and Bristol projects MJN Colston have wasted no time and have already began work on Bath and Cardiff

The next to be completed will be Southgate in Bath which is the biggest mixed use development the city has ever seen and will blend in with the city’s existing Georgian architecture.

The £360 million pound phased scheme will take approximately 4 and a half years to complete and has been designed with the modern shopper in mind. It will provide the city with a new innovative retail quarter together with a state of the art interchange.

The next is St Davids Shopping Centre (SD1) in Cardiff which is the main shopping area in the heart of Cardiff City Centre and was crying out for a make over and modernization.

The existing shopping centre and the St. David’s 2 development will link via the former Town Wall South Mall, which is currently being widened and remodelled to form the main link via the ground floor and the first floor via an escalator.

St. David’s and St. David’s 2 will become one shopping centre in 2009 and will bring thousands of new jobs to the area and will put the city on the map as one of the UK’s largest shopping centres.
