Horizon House wins BREEAM 2010 Award

Each year BREEAM Awards recognise and reward those involved in the design and construction of the highest scoring buildings certified under BREEAM.

A BREEAM “Excellent” rating is a pre-qualification, so the winners truly represent the top examples of sustainability design and must excel in every environmental category with BREEAM from Energy to Ecology.

MJN Colston was proud to be part of the project team that worked on Horizon House which is the Environments Agency’s new corporate office located in Bristol. Horizon House is an important development for Bristol as it will revitalise a key central location of the City and will set the bar for the environmental quality of future developments.

Having carried out extensive value engineering process on the Building Services element of the project with the rest of the design and construction team MJN Colston was responsible for the mechanical and electrical installation.
This prestigious project was independently assessed and certified and achieved a high score 85.06% and was awarded a BREEAM rating of “Excellent”, and walked away with the 2010 award for BREEAM Offices.
