Leicester College - Abbey Campus

As part of their continuing strive for the highest possible educational premises, Leicester College is constructing a new campus facility which will become part of a major redevelopment of the Abbey Park area of the city of Leicester.

The project’s electrical services have been designed and developed by EI-WHS along with the Building Services Engineers and Architects, to enable all parties achieve the design brief set out by the client and achieve a high standard - quality building services installation, utilising state of the art 3D modelling software.

By utilising 3D modelling the team were able to identify areas that required close co-ordination but more importantly demonstrate to the client how the building would look when completed.

Electrical services consisted of, power distribution, lighting and emergency lighting schemes, lightning protection, IT systems and life safety systems. The lighting of the building was designed and installed to be of the highest energy efficiency that could be achieved utilising presence detection, daylight linked systems and light scene set systems throughout.

The new campus is due to be completed in June 2008.
