Rolls Royce Fastjet Project

EI.WHS undertook the refurbishment of shop 4 at their Ansty Factory on the outskirts of Coventry to form a new Aero Engine Repair & Overhaul Centre for RB199 & EJ200 Engines.

The existing building, first built in the mid 1950’s, has a floor area of over 100,000 Ft2 and has been used by Rolls Royce to fulfill a variety of uses over the years. It required an extensive overhaul & modernization to bring it up to meet the exacting standard that Rolls Royce & their Client Sponsor the M.O.D. expected and required.

The refurbishment work entailed:

• The complete modernization/renovation of the building envelope & fabric. • The upgrading of M&E Services Installations. • The provision of motorized doors to entrances/exits. • Provision of new Toilet Facility Blocks & Crew Rooms within the building. • Provision of Technical Offices & Laboratory Area. • Provision of new Reception Area & Conference Room with state of the art Video Conferencing facilities. • Provision of new Cranes, & associated foundations, to Workshop Areas. • Provision of bases & foundations for special purpose machines etc. • Complete re-flooring & line marking to the workshop area.

Works were carried out on a Design Build basis over a 12 month period to a demanding programme with phased completion of areas to allow early Client occupation. We used our expertise to ensure that completion was to time and cost to the highest level of quality.
