Oxstall Campus, Gloucester

MJN Colston were involved with phases 1, 2 & 3 consisting of two Learning Resource Centres, Sports Science Building and Student Residences set on a 15 acre site in Gloucester. From its inception, the scheme was designed with sustainability as a key component. The campus’s environmental credentials are excellent, with low energy consumption and environmental control as major objectives.
The learning centres provide space for 300 computer workstations, a series of flexible learning and teaching spaces and a lecture theatre for 200 people. The Sports Science Building contains laboratories and teaching spaces and a large sports hall for teaching, training and competitive events.
The buildings are designed to minimise solar gain and external noise whilst maximising the use of daylight and natural ventilation.
In addition to the more common building services Oxstalls Campus incorporated various specialist systems to provide an energy efficient and sustainable installation.
