St. Mary Magdalene Academy

St. Mary Magdalene Academy is a new build 2 phase development incorporating the St Mary Magdalene Primary School and a new Church of England secondary School which will be situated in the very heart of Islington.

With a total cost of over 30 million the school will provide education for 1360 pupils and comprises of an Early Years Nursery, Primary and Secondary School, it will also contain a state of the art ICT facility.

Phase 1 is located between the existing nursery and Primary School and is due for completion in September 2007. Phase 2 which is due for completion in December 2008 comprises of the demolition of the existing school with the construction of a new Sports Hall facility and external works.

MJN Colston were responsible for installing the M & E services comprising of: Central Boiler Plant, A/C, Heating, Ventilation, DHWS, CWS, Automatic Controls, Gas, Water Conditioner, BMS, Chiller Plant, LV Switchgear, LV Distribution, Internal/External/Emergency Lighting, Small Power, Earth Bonding, Lightning Protection, Fire Alarm, Security, Data/telecom containment and CCTV.
