Bristol City Centre expansion represents Bristol’s largest and most important city centre regeneration programme since the post World War 2 reconstruction.

Work commenced in September 2005 and was spread over 6 phases, it was completed in Autumn 2008. This new three tiered shopping development provides around one million sq ft of high quality retail including a flagship store for House of Frazer, Harvey Nichols, restaurants, Cinema de Lux which will be able to show films in 3D, apartments and public spaces.

The development which is set in the heart of Bristol is covered by a unique shell-shaped glass roof the only one of its kind in Europe. It is linked to the new state of the art 2600 car park by a specially designed raised footbridge.

MJN Colston responsibilities included the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Services from the incoming power, water and telecoms utilities through to the primary landlords supply, packaged plant rooms, extract/toilet and catering ventilation systems, natural smoke extract system, controls, landlords metering, street lighting, decorative lighting, small power & secondary containment for specialist works packages.
