St David 1, Cardiff

The St David’s Shopping Centre (SD1) is the main shopping centre in the heart of Cardiff City Centre and was in need of modernization. The refurbishment of SD1 is to enhance the “front door” to the new much larger St David’s Shopping Center (SD2) MJN Colston initially carried out enabling works to the services to allow intergration of the original SD1Centre with the new SD2 Centre.
The enabling works included all power diversions and links, all shop alert , fire alarm, mains water, sprinkler mains diversions, foot fall and all other services relevant to a large Shopping centre whilst keeping the systems operational for the next days trading.
A full refurbishment of SD1 was completed with the majority of works being carried out at night whilst the shopping centre trades normally throughout the day.
The works include the stripping out and replacement of thing such as mains cold water, gas, ventilation ductwork, sprinkler system, fire alarms, pa/va, security, people counting, BMS, cctv, L V distribution, modification to the existing generator, electrical containment, lighting, small power
Town Wall South is a new build 3 story area of the project and incorporates all services listed above.
