The new school which will be built to replace Durham Road Infants and Junior Schools and Rockfield Nursery will be built on an old waste dump in Glebelands under the Governments Private Finance Initiative.

The new state-of-the-art facility which will provide places for around 540 pupils is being built under the Governments Private Finance Initiative. The project is due to be completed at the end of 2009 in order to open its doors to its first pupils at the beginning of 2010.
