High Point Prison (ancilliary works)

Delivered as part of our prison framework agreement with our partners Carillion and White Young Green this project was mainly the refurbishment and change of use of the Kitchen, Education and Multi Faith Blocks.
Works for MJN Colston included the removal of both Mechanical, Electrical, Domestic and Life Safety Services to allow all associated builders works to be completed prior to the installation of the following new services within all areas:
Heating throughout all rooms including modifications to the main plant room pipe work and associated controls. Ventilation, both supply and extract to all areas including new air handling plant installation . Domestic services to new toilet areas throughout the Education block and Multi Faith areas.
Electrical services throughout all rooms including new distribution boards supplied via the existing incoming supply including lighting, small power and power supplies for new mechanical plant.
IT/DATA installation throughout all areas inclusive of the interface with the existing systems.
BMS modifications inclusive of new control panel within the main plant room and associated controls required to accommodate the change in requirements.
Fire alarm / General alarm installation throughout all areas inclusive of interface with the existing system.
The project was completed over two phases with the Education Block being completed as part of phase 1 and the Multi Faith Block as part of the second phase.
This required a structured approach to the setting to work and commissioning of the new building services. Key to the success of this were the interfaces with the existing building services within occupied areas. The works were executed and completed with minimum disruption to the day to day operation of the prison.
