Britned Isle of Grain

National Grid and TenneT are constructing the BritNed subsea link which will support security of supply for both the Netherlands and UK as well as improving access for customers to participate in European markets

The contract is for the construction of a new converter station for the new BritNed high-voltage link between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

We are providing the manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning of the Building Services to all structures contained within the Converter Station at the Isle of Grain.

The Building Services element includes:

  • HVAC services within the Control Building, Valve Halls, DC Halls and Spare Parts Building.
  • Public Health including above ground distribution and drainage.
  • Small Power Distribution services within the Control Building, Valve Halls, DC Halls and Spare Parts Building.
  • Lighting (external, internal and emergency) within the Control Building, Valve Halls, DC Halls and Spare Parts Building.
  • Security systems.
