Asda, Bridgend

As part of the redevelopment and rebranding of the old “Brackla Shopping Centre”, now known as “Bridgend Shopping Centre”, a new ‘prototype’ Asda supermarket was erected and was opened early in 2008.

The new store was built close to the town High Street on land that was previously occupied by council-owned allotments and a multi-storey car park. As the site was close to residential housing, two schools and a college, management of dust, noise and traffic played a critical part in this project.

This project was also unique due to the fact that as so much recycled content was used, the project was declared waste neutral.
