Walsgrave Hospital

The new University ‘super’ hospital’ in Coventry replaces the old Walsgrave Hospital and the Coventry & Warwickshire Hospital and will provide the local community with world-class healthcare for decades to come.
Skanska Innisfree’s consortium obtained the PFI contract for the £400M redevelopment of the existing Hospital Site which included a Central Power Services Building, a Clinical Sciences Block (9,500Mt2), Acute Ward Blocks A/B/C/D (120,000 Mt2) & a Mental Health Unit (13,300 Mt2).
The new hospital is one of the largest PFI projects to be ever undertaken and took over 4 years to complete.
This NHS Hospital offers clean modern facilities which rival the best private hospitals. The hospital is five storeys high and a ¼ mile long and boasts 250 top specialists in heart care, stroke, joint replacements, diabetes and cancer care.
