Leicester Tigers RFC – New North Stand ,Welford Road

The building of a new 10,500-seat North stand which will be known as “the Caterpillar Stand” is the first part of a £60 million phased development for the stadium, which will see its total capacity increased from 17,500 to 30,000

A very clear plan of development was made so that the finished stadium still looked like one single idea even though the redevelopment was set over various phases.

We carried out the complete M&E Services installation to the new stand including:

• New incoming Water and Gas Services • Biomass Boiler • Energy Centre • Heating Services • New incoming HV supply & client Transformer • Sanitaryware & above ground drainage systems (including rainwater pipework) • Ventilation and Cooling • Hot &cold water systems • Generator & Static Inverter standby supply systems • Electrical Main & Sub-Distribution Systems • Complete Lighting & Small Power Installations • Pitch Floodlighting Installations • Terrace Lighting Installations • Integrated Lighting Control Systems • Fire Alarm System • Public Address/Voice Alarm Systems • Turnstile Monitoring and disabled alarm & refuge systems • Stewards Telephone System • Exit Gate Controls • Access Control,Television Aerial and Intruder Alarm Systems • CCTV Systems • Structured Cabling Installations

The existing North Stand was demolished in June 2009 to provide the full footprint for construction completion of the new North Stand

The overall completion of the project is scheduled for September 2009 to allow the stand to be ready for the 2009/2010 season.
